About Our Curriculum

This three-year program (PGY-1 to PGY-3) is affiliated with Harvard Medical School and is based at BIDMC, a 57,000 visit per year Level I trauma center. Our training model emphasizes high acuity clinical experiences, with residents spending a significant amount of time training at community emergency department sites, where our residents are usually the only resident in the department, allowing for increased autonomy, patient volume, and procedural opportunities. Residents rotate at BID-Needham, Boston Children's Hospital, Cambridge Health Alliance, Mt. Auburn Hospital, South Shore Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, and Tufts Medical Center.
