Welcome to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (BIDMC-HAEMR)! I am thrilled you are interested in our program and would love to share the many attributes that drew me to this program when I was a prospective applicant. I joined BIDMC-HAEMR as an intern many years ago, had an amazing residency experience and it is an honor now to be the Program Director at this incredible hospital.

The clinical training of our robust three-year program includes graduated responsibility, high acuity clinical experiences and a holistic approach to your education. Our curriculum is designed to include rotations at academic/tertiary care hospitals as well as many community hospitals with a different resources and diverse patient populations. This allows you to be trained as an incredibly well-rounded clinician ready to hit the ground running as an attending physician after three years with us.

We do offer a unique guaranteed fourth year opportunity that many graduates enjoy. You are fully graduated after 3 years in our program, but our fourth year offers you the mentorship and framework to pursue your niche area of expertise while practicing as an attending physician within our hospital network. Examples include but are not limited to EMS, Ultrasound, IT, Critical Care, Medical Education, Operations, and Climate Change.
