Diversity and Inclusion

The Department of Emergency Medicine at BIDMC is committed to providing high quality, patient centric care to each person who presents to our ED regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, socioeconomic status, or insurance status. With that, we are committed to training our residents to treat each patient individually understanding that their health

needs may differ because of their social circumstances.

We are also committed to recruiting and training a diverse group of residents and fellows and providing an inclusive environment to ensure their growth and success. We are determined to provide outstanding clinical training within a welcoming environment so that all of our residents and fellows develop to their full potential as physician leaders in emergency medicine. This is a pillar of the BIDMC HAEMR and our hospital.

I have felt incredibly supported during my time at the BIDMC. Our program has done a great job of bringing together residents and faculty with different interests which fosters an open learning community."
